Tacombi at Fonda Nolita
I don't like tacos … said no Juan ever!
But seriously, Tacombi at Fonda Nolita might just be the best little tex mex restaurant in New York City.
Ilia and I woke up late (as usual) and we decided to skip brunch for lunch in the cute and colourful neighbourhood of Nolita.
It's in a garage - sah hipster.
And parked inside the garage is the Tacombi van.
Serving up freshly pressed green smoothies.
Apple, celery, kale, pineapple, lime and mint. Possibly the most healthy drink I've had all year.
And killer tacos!
You can pick as many different tacos as you like that will fit on your plate.
Before I taco 'bout it some more, let me dig in first.
Starting with the barbecoa beef taco.
Barbecued to perfection with chilli, potato and Mexican spices.
The crispy fish taco.
My favourite - and nothing fishy about it, alright?
Taco especial of the day - chicken and pineapple quesadilla.
And the maiz and poblano taco - another popular hit here.
Ilia chowed down his tacos faster than lightening.
Typical boy behaviour.
Whereas I took my sweet time savouring every bite.
It would be the perfect place for a cheap and delicious feed in the evening. Fairy lights, margaritas and as many tacos as you can squeeze in.
But today, we had work to do for the rest of the afternoon.
So we strolled down to a nearby cafe and regrettably pulled our eyes away from the cool boutiques of Prince Street and Nolita.
When we reached Little Fox Cafe, we sat down with a good mug of coffee and switched our laptops on.
Ilia wrote whatever aspiring writers write, and I worked on whatever digital strategists do.
Interrupted with cookie breaks - whichare always a good idea.
Working remotely as a digital nomad has its pros and cons, but on those occasions where you have good food and even better company - the office never looked better!
