Having gotten my snow legs back (I hadn’t set foot on a slope in years), I headed back to Chamonix for our first term break.

The first time we were in Chamonix, the snow was perilously icy and the slopes were crowded with families on vacation.

This time, we were blessed with fresh powder and blue skies. Peak holiday season was over so we had the slopes wide and clear to ourselves. It couldn't have been a more different experience!

For four blissful days, we woke up to crisp mountain sunshine pouring through our chalet windows and a hearty cooked breakfast of porridge and pastries. (Being MBA students, we made the incredibly indulgent decision to stay in a fully-catered chalet ... yolo!)

After breakfast, we would bundle into our cars, shoot off to the mountain base, hop into a bubble lift, zip up a few more chairlifts and soon find ourselves on top of the world. Ready to race down the slopes again!

On our last day, we stopped at Plan Joran in Argentière for lunch. (Highly recommended, I will remember their linguine for years to come.) After a morning of skiing, nothing is more well deserved than a three course dining experience! Especially when it is washed down with a few magnums of Rosé.

After lunch, I was feeling extra Rosé brave and zoomed down the slopes a little faster than I usually would. Coupled with having to keep up with the advanced skiers in my company (Harry, Jeff, Anne, Ben, Gilbert - I'm looking at you guys!), I really felt like I improved on the slopes this time around.

I loved every second of this trip! But by the end of four days, my skiboots felt like knives in my shins and I was ready to return to my 'normal life' in Fontainebleau.

Who am I kidding? This year, there is nothing normal about my life. La MBA vie est belle.
