Chateau de Chantilly

It's been several months since I visited Chantilly (well before my Normandy trip) so I'm afraid this post is a little overdue!

So back in May ... When Gigi, Sanyukta and I had an afternoon 'free' from classes (i.e. skipped macroeconomics), we made a little road trip to Chantilly.

It seems silly to drive for two hours to see another chateau since we live right next to the beautiful Chateau de Fontainebleau. But it just feels refreshing to get out of town for a drive by the French countryside, even if only for a few hours.

Our afternoon was delightful. It was drizzly and raining (as usual in France ...), but our spirits weren't dampened. We wandered inside the stunning chateau grounds and stopped at the cute little shops in town. I didn't have any reason to buy Chantilly lace while we were here, but I did ask for extra Chantilly cream with our afternoon tea and cake! When in Chantilly, how could I not?
