Top of the Rock
You know it's a good day in New York when you walk out of Bergdorf's with two giant shopping bags.
My poor credit card bill is going to suffer for this, but my little feet will thank me later for purchasing the cutest new Sophia Webster flats :D
While I rummaged through my new purchases...
Will emerged from our shopping expedition empty handed :(
So I found him some friends - Kishore and Matt - who joined us for the afternoon.
All we have done in New York up until now is eating and shopping. I have absolutely no regrets about this (in fact, I'm darn pleased about it), but we decided it was time to do something just a little bit touristy.
So, we all met up at the Rockefeller Center.
A beautiful historical building in Midtown Manhattan where you enter through giant golden doors.
You guessed it, we're going to go right up to the Top of the Rock!
When you go through the front doors, look up and you'll see some rather intimidating art on the ceiling.
I know … it made me blush too!
We hopped into the elevator which took us higher and higher into the void of neon blue light.
After everybody's ears had popped, we reached the 70th floor and made our way outside to this jaw dropping view of Central Park.
New York looking as beautiful as ever today!
Naturally, careful thought had to be taken as to how to pose for our photo at this iconic location.
Honestly, this is one good looking city from up top.
You can go up the Empire State Building for another birds eye view of the city, but we chose the Rockefeller Centre because the glass panels make for a nicer view than the caged walls at the Empire.
And it means that you can get the Empire State Building in your photo backdrop too.
The sun shone through the clouds as if to say hello to us.
And we responded to the sun with cheeky grins and bad jokes while admiring the panoramic view.
New York City - you rock!
